The process is similar to placing braces. It is completely painless.

For a single gem, the process (from signing the release form to walking out the door) typically takes less than 20 minutes.

We use a dental grade etch to prep the tooth, the gem is glued in place with a composite, which is light cured to harden it, ensuring a long lasting bond. The process is very similar to the technique for attaching an orthodontic bracket.

The gem should not damage or harm a natural tooth in any way.
-
Initially, the gem may feel foreign, but typically clients do not notice it anymore after a few days.
-
We use 100% lead-free Preciosa gems or 18KT gold filled gems.
-
Typically, you should pass them naturally & pain-free.

Yes, teeth whitening treatments don’t affect the longevity or binding of the gem. Keep in mind the area the gem is covering will not be whitened.
-
No, gems will have no effect on everyday brushing or dental hygiene treatments.

Client results vary, depending on diet, body chemistry and dental care. On average most gems fall off naturally after approximately 6 weeks to a year, but some have been known to fall off sooner or last longer! The best way to ensure your tooth gem will last is to properly clean your teeth before your appointment. If your gem should fall off prematurely, we can replace it at no charge within the first 7 days.
-
We recommend you have your gem removed at your next routine dental appointment. The gem will be removed and the excess composite polished off. There should be no visible mark on the tooth and it should only take a couple of seconds to remove. WE DO NOT OFFER TOOTH GEM REMOVAL.
